Notes on Giving

"The true meaning of Life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit." Nelson Henderson

When you think about it, the result of any charitable giving may not be seen during the lifetime of the donor. This is true whether the donation goes to First Congregational Church or any other organization. For example, the Arbor Day Foundation's mission is to "inspire people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees." This means that long after the donor has gone, the beauty of a tree lives on. Generous individuals from the present generation give something to benefit future generations. This has happened at First Congregational in Ridgefield since 1712. As we begin this year with many challenges ahead of us both financially and with the changes that must take place under the Master Plan. Please consider giving an unrestricted gift to the Church or start the process of creating a Legacy by including First Congregational Church in your will. Contact one of the Trustees or e-mail Cynthia Slater at and we will get you started on that process.

The Trustees would also like to thank those generous individuals who have chosen to pay their annual pledges or their Capital Campaign pledges in full early in this year. This has been very helpful in assisting us to plan during the construction period.
