Our Ministry of Music
The Music Ministry has been preparing for months for the current demolition and remodeling of our Church House, along with the necessary six-month forfeiture of our rehearsal area and music storage space of the last 37 years, known as the Music Room, and I joy to predict that our church family will notice little visual or aural change as our various ensembles continue to lead us week after week in both worship and concert with their inspiring repertoire and customary energy and passion.
March finds us in the season of Lent with each of our musical ensembles—the Chancel Choir, the Celebration Ringers, the Covenant Choir, the Carol Choir, the Worship Band, instrumentalists, and soloists—offering music that will lead us through Jesus' journey toward the Cross. The month will conclude with the Fountain Music Series bringing back a troupe chosen for the artist roster of the Connecticut Commission on Arts and Tourism, The Fontenay Chamber Players-an ensemble of harp, flute, clarinet, cello, viola, and two violins-after their performance here in 2013. This 'welcome-back' concert will be Sunday, March 26, at 4:00 p.m.
Soli Deo Gloria, Edwin R. Taylor, Minister of Music/Music Director
