Master Plan Update
June 22, 2017

Work inside and outside the Church House will intensify this summer as the project accelerates towards its scheduled completion by Rally Day in September.

Inside the building, the work area has expanded to include the children's classroom area, which was emptied on June 15. Necessary infrastructure work (insulation, electrical wiring, audiovisual and data wiring, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, fire suppression sprinkler, and plumbing can now be completed throughout the Church House. Work in the passageway from the Sanctuary and on the new exterior doors means that in order to protect our organ, the doors between the passageway and the Sanctuary will be sealed during the week. On Sundays, the passageway will be usable only as an emergency exit. Installation of new windows, including the new Lund Hall windows, is nearly complete, and soon new exterior doors will be installed. Summer will also bring the completion of new walls, ceilings, lights, flooring and trim, and the renovated kitchen. Keep checking www.FCCRenovations.com to follow progress inside the building.

Work outside the building is more visible (and at times disruptive). The parking lot is being realigned and prepared, in stages, for the installation of new lighting and for paving or sealing during the summer. The parking lot work will also include new drainage arrangements. We now have foundations in place for the terrace and the new entry vestibule, so these important features will take shape. You will also see work outside the main Sanctuary doors-the new drop off area, curbs, and the walkway. The Church House will be painted this summer and some areas re-roofed, so preparatory work will be underway soon.

We are looking forward to celebrating the completion of the project on Rally Day, and to inviting the community to come to an open house in October. Council is planning for these events.
