Church World
Service Hurricane

This year, as we celebrated the opening of our beautiful new church house, Rally Day was not only a day of fun, food and fellowship but also an opportunity to get involved in the mission outreach of our church.

Following the devastation of both Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, Church World Service (our mission partner for disaster response) has been working alongside National and State VOAD organizations (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) monitoring damage and coordinating relief efforts.

In addition to urgently needed financial support, hands-on participation was invited to assemble CWS Hygiene Kits and Emergency Clean-Up Buckets. As always, FCC was generous in its response - THANK YOU ALL!

The Mission Ministry is delighted to report that to-date, we have taken receipt of

  • 58 completed CWS Hygiene Kits
  • 10 completed CWS Emergency Clean-up Buckets
  • A total of $3,160 in additional cash donations

All kits and buckets will be delivered to the Center Congregational Church in Meriden, CT (CWS 'receiving center') for shipment to affected communities.

Our prayers continue to be with those who have experienced loss and devastation over the past few weeks, with those now facing new threats during this 'Hurricane Season' and of course, with those affected by the recent earthquakes in Mexico.

Thank you again for your contribution!
