Senior Pastor
Search committee update

Your Senior Pastor Search Committee continues to work diligently through weekly meetings, consultation with our UCC Regional Minister Dr. Michael Ciba, behind-the-scenes tasks, and by making every effort to maintain open lines of communication with the congregation.

Our focus continues to be the Local Church Profile, a key document that provides information about our congregation, our community, and our church's vision. We recently had a productive meeting with Dr. Ciba in which he provided many helpful suggestions regarding our profile and outlined the steps ahead that will prepare us for reviewing ministerial profiles and interviewing select candidates.

We continue to refine our Church Profile and have shared an overview of it with Church Council. Among the items we are working on is the Senior Pastor Job Description that must accurately communicate our expectations of the person we are looking for to lead us in the years ahead. Our goal is to have the profile polished and ready to post on the UCC website in October.

As reported last month, we do not expect our church will have selected a new Senior Pastor immediately following Pastor Charlie's last Sunday on November 12. As such, Church Council has announced it is taking the required steps to find an interim minister for the period between.

We are committed to thoughtfully, prayerfully and efficiently working through all required steps in the search process as we seek to identify and introduce the candidate we feel best meets the needs and wants of our church family.

Please contact us in person, by email at or leave a message in our mailbox in Shield's House with any questions or ideas. Thank you!
