Senior Pastor Search Committee Update

This month, the Search Committee would like to share with you our Statement of Leadership in Ministry. This is the highlight of our Local Church Profile, which we plan to present, in its final form, at the next meeting of the Executive Council.

Statement on Leadership in Ministry

"Every member a minister."

You will see this in our bulletin every week.

We take this to heart. We are an empowered laity that is integrally involved in ministry to each other, our community and the greater world. We come from many faith backgrounds. We are an active, joyous, intelligent, Spirit-filled congregation.

We are seeking a partner in ministry. Someone to inspire us to move beyond places where we have become comfortable.

We want a teacher for all generations who opens the Scriptures to us in ways we might not see on our own and lights our way to a more faithful Christian walk.

We need a compassionate and caring pastor to turn to in times of trouble, sickness and joy.

We long for a catalyst to help us spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and to broadcast to our community and beyond the love of God and our fellows that we have found here at FCC.

We hope for a spiritual mentor for our staff, encouraging and equipping them for effective service.

We have prepared ourselves for a new leader by exploring our past, warts and all. We have examined our weaknesses and fortified our strengths.

We celebrated our 300 years as a congregation with a study of our history and setting the stage for a bright future. We redesigned our Church home to be more welcoming, enabling us to better serve our community and future generations.

We are full of joyful anticipation and reasonable expectations. We are eager to work with a new Senior Pastor for the expansion of the Kingdom.
