Winter Worries

Winter Worries about Getting to Church Events?

If you NEED A RIDE to church or to a Fountain Music Series Concert, a Wednesday night dinner, a small group gathering, Elizabeth Circle, etc., here are some options to pursue:

  • Ask someone you know for a ride, or call an event leader for suggestions!
  • Call the church office, just to let it be known you would like a ride if someone can oblige.
  • If you live in Ridgefield and are a senior and/or have eyesight/mobility issues, register with Rides for Ridgefield {(203) 894-7433 or}.
  • You will need to submit a one-time registration form (available on-line, or ask Deeny for a copy), wait until notified that you have been registered, and then you may call the Rides for Ridgefield number on weekdays between 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at least two days prior to the event for which you need a ride. If a trained volunteer driver is available, they will match him or her with your transportation need.
  • If you live in an assisted-living/retirement community, gather names of others who wish to attend an event and present your collective request for transportation to the facility.

If you are willing to OFFER A RIDE to a fellow church member or friend, please:

  • Sign up on the sheet posted in the new bulletin board area off the Welcome Center (in the hallway to the left of the Music Room), or contact Deeny Bennett at the church or by email {}.
  • Let us reach out to each other so that all members and friends of First Congregational will be able to get to church and to church events safely and with a warm feeling of connection!
