Sunday Morning In The Commons

Adult Ministries welcomes you to join us for a thought-provoking line up of interesting lectures in late April and May at 8:30 am in The Commons. Coffee and breakfast snacks will be served at all events.

  • On April 29th and May 6th, Former Teaching Minister Carlene Demiany returns for two sessions on two towering figures in Christianity - Peter & Paul. On the 29th, Carlene examines Peter's relationship to Jesus, his mistakes, and his influence on the early Christian church. On the 6th, she will examine the impact of Paul on Christianity: his background, conversion on the road to Damascus, his ministry, writings and messianic preaching.
  • Afaf Al-Khoshman, daughter-in-law of FCC's Ralph Slater will join us on the 13th to share her observations since arriving here in 2014 from Jordan about differences between the Middle East and the U.S. She will focus on differences in academia, women's rights, human rights, and cultural dialogue. Afaf will also discuss how the different faiths in the Middle East and the U.S. have influenced the cultures in each place.
  • On the 20th, we will offer a second screening of "When God Left the Building" about the closure of 4000 American churches each year, yet some churches are finding reasons for great hope and a bright future. Why? Come watch this powerful documentary wake up call after the 10 am service in a room TBD. Rev. Karen Halac will host the Q&A session after the screening. This will be our final Adult Ministries offering until we resume classes in September. Please join us.
