CREATIVE CHILDREN'S KORNER PRESCHOOL
PROPOSED MOVE TO FCC

A long-established Ridgefield preschool, Creative Children's Korner, is proposing to move to FCC this fall. The school's application to the town Planning and Zoning Board was approved recently and the proposal now goes to the State agency that oversees the operation of preschools. Helen Kovacs, who owns and operates the school, approached church leaders a year and a half ago to explore this possibility. After endorsement from our Children's and Family Ministry (CFM) and Trustees, the proposal was approved by our Church Council last year and a lease agreement was negotiated. If final approvals are forthcoming, CCK Preschool will occupy four rooms (the first two rooms on either side of the hallway) in the Sunday school wing of the church Monday through Friday. Any improvements or modifications to the facilities will be negotiated with our CFM and Trustee leaders and paid for by the Preschool. Both our CFM and Trustees have designated a liaison person to coordinate relationships with the Preschool. Helen and Joe Kovacs are members of our church, but Creative Children's Korner is a nonsectarian school that will simply be renting space in our facilities. It should not be considered a program sponsored by FCC. Further details will be forthcoming as information is available.
