Mission Overview
Dorothy Day has been feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless in the Danbury, CT area since 1982. Each day, Dorothy Day Hospitality House prepares and serves a hot meal to more than one hundred individuals and also provides a lunch for diners to take with them. Dorothy Day ensures that individuals can receive healthy, nurturing food regardless of their economic situation. There are numerous ways that volunteers can help with the needs of the kitchen and shelter and by donating needed items.
