Mission Overview
Habitat for Humanity Global Village is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter, a matter of conscience and action. Volunteering on a Global Village trip gives you the opportunity to observe and contribute to Habitat's work firsthand. Participants learn about poverty housing, development challenges and Habitat's ministry and mission to help eradicate them. They experience the community's culture, language and social practices while working alongside homeowners and volunteers of all backgrounds, races and religions. Participants help to build a true global village of love, homes, families, communities and hope!

Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has built over 400,000 houses in over 90 nations and served more than 2 million people around the world. Since 1999, FCC has sent over 90 members in 9 teams to Central America and the Caribbean. The teams have worked on and supplied enough funds to cover the cost of approximately 20 homes. The trip participants have not only changed the lives of the beneficiary families, but have experienced the love, wonder, and joy of sharing in their lives as well.
