Mission Overview
Renewal House provides transitional housing, support and services for the older (58+) homeless population in the Western Connecticut region. Renewal House's goal is to reduce homelessness of older individuals in the region by providing safe, secure housing, renewing a sense of hope, reinforcing self-worth and restoring dignity and confidence. Residents come to Renewal House through a variety of locally based sources such as social service agencies, shelters, hospitals, rehabilitation programs and soup kitchens. Although the program allows for up to a two-year stay, most residents move into permanent housing within 11 months.
